What Are GABA And Melatonin?
GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric acid) is known to be an amino acid that gets naturally formed inside of our brain. Its role is to act as an inhibitory neurotransmitter that can decrease and block the output of specific brain signals and decrease the nervous system’s functioning. Glutamate is an excitatory neurotransmitter that plays the opposite role of GABA. Low levels of Glutamate mean high GABA and vice versa. Source: Gaba And Melatonin For Sleep: A Comprehensive Guide
